Position Description

We invite applications for the position of Full-Time Professor in Industrial Engineering (Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor), preferably with experience in Artificial Intelligence (AI) applications focused on improving production processes. Ideal candidates will apply AI methodologies to optimize supply chain management, logistics, data analysis, or operational excellence (with a focus on Quality). The role requires driving high-impact research, obtaining competitive funding, and delivering exceptional teaching by integrating AI into undergraduate and graduate programs.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership in Applied AI Research in Industrial Engineering

Develop and promote internationally recognized AI research programs in industrial engineering contexts.
Publish in high-impact journals in Industrial Engineering and possess management skills and obtain national and international funding.

Excellence in Teaching with the Application of AI in Industrial Engineering

Design and teach innovative courses that integrate AI (machine learning, optimization, predictive analytics) in industrial engineering (logistics, operations research, and quality).
Guide students through practical projects, challenges related to industrial engineering topics, and laboratory work.

Student Supervision

Lead Master's and PhD projects in a collaborative and inclusive research environment.
Curriculum Development

Support in the creation of AI-based teaching materials for industrial engineering, digital simulations, and case studies that enhance learning.

Collaboration with Industry

Establish partnerships with technology companies and government agencies to apply AI research to improve production processes and co-develop practical solutions.

Requirements

Academic Background

A PhD in Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, or related fields.
Industry experience will be considered an advantage.

Research Experience

A proven track record of publications in high-impact journals in Industrial Engineering.
Experience in obtaining external funding focused on projects using AI applied to Industrial Engineering is preferred.

Teaching Experience

Demonstrated excellence in teaching industrial engineering topics.
Experience developing curricula or laboratories where AI is applied to problems within the context of industrial engineering will be highly valued.
Language and Communication

Professional English proficiency (minimum B2/TOEFL 550).
Commitment to achieving an intermediate level of Spanish (B1) within two years.
Leadership

Experience leading interdisciplinary teams on AI application projects in Industrial Engineering and collaborating with industrial partners is preferred.
