IAMSM Postdoctoral position
At the Institute of Advanced Materials for Sustainable Manufacturing (https://tec.mx/en/institute-advanced-materials-sustainable-manufacturing), we do research, innovate, and foster scientific entrepreneurship in advanced materials and manufacturing processes with the potential to transform the manufacturing industry. Our mission is to contribute to a carbon-neutral economy by discovering, developing, and creating advanced materials to achieve sustainable manufacturing. We focus on:
- Designing future materials that produce net-zero emissions and reduce the carbon footprint: We use advanced technology platforms to accelerate research and innovation in materials science and manufacturing.
- Creating and developing new manufacturing processes with minimal environmental impact: We develop manufacturing processes for the industry and produce advanced materials with minimal environmental impact by integrating clean energy systems, additive manufacturing techniques, and CO2 capture to reduce emissions.
- Designing and utilizing advanced technology platforms to accelerate research and innovation in materials science and manufacturing: We design and use advanced technology platforms, such as AI, data science, and robotics, to accelerate the discovery, development, and production of new materials, thereby enhancing productivity.
The Institute invites early-career, ambitious researchers to apply for a postdoctoral position focused on developing interdisciplinary, world-class research on the assessment and modeling of human performance in complex operational environments (e.g., manufacturing and healthcare systems) based on physiological and behavioral data. This position is a one-year contract renewable for one additional year based on performance. This position may include working with direct supervisors as a teaching assistant, not exceeding 25% of the time.
Requirements:
A candidate for this position:
- Must have earned (or is close to earning) a Ph.D. degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field with a background in biomedical signal processing (e.g., EEG, ECG). Experience developing machine learning models in MATLAB and/or Python is highly desirable. Experience with VR/AR systems is a plus.
- Has outstanding leadership potential and a commitment to developing an exciting and innovative research agenda to produce high scientific impact, technology development, or opportunities for technology-based entrepreneurship in their field.
- Has published at least two scientific journal articles indexed in Scopus.
- Is a team player who will collaborate in interdisciplinary research and development.
- Can demonstrate oral and written English skills at least at the level of B2 in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. Spanish proficiency is desirable but optional.
Experience in the discipline is desirable (e.g., participation in international projects, research stays, collaboration in research and development projects funded by industry, proposal submissions for funding, or holding a postdoctoral position).
