What will you do?

As a Full-Time Professor in Artificial Intelligence and Intelligent Systems, you will join the Computer Science Department at the School of Engineering and Sciences, Mexico City Campus. The primary objective of this position is to strengthen the Department’s academic, research, innovation, and industry engagement capabilities in the areas of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science, and intelligent systems development. 

We are looking for a candidate with a clearly defined research agenda who can generate knowledge and develop computational solutions that integrate Artificial Intelligence models, data, and modern software and computing platforms.

The selected candidate will primarily contribute to the B.S. in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science (IDM) and the B.S. in Computer Technologies Engineering (ITC), while also supporting the B.S. in Robotics and Intelligent Systems Engineering (IRS) in areas related to Artificial Intelligence, intelligent algorithms, computational perception, and intelligent systems.

This combination reflects the structure of the academic programs: IDM focuses on Machine Learning, Deep Learning, NLP, Reinforcement Learning, transfer learning, and cloud computing for AI; ITC incorporates AI, Machine Learning, Data Science, Cloud Computing, and Software Engineering; while IRS integrates AI algorithms, computer vision, and intelligent systems.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Design and deliver high-quality learning experiences in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science, and related areas.
• Develop and consolidate an independent, original, and high-impact research agenda in Artificial Intelligence and intelligent systems, aligned with the strategic capabilities of the Computer Science Department.
• Maintain sustained scientific production through publications in high-impact, indexed international journals and conferences.
• Lead and participate in research projects, including interdisciplinary initiatives, funded projects, and national and international collaborations.
• Develop projects involving Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Generative AI, Natural Language Processing, Computer Vision, intelligent systems, and data analytics.
• Design, develop, and evaluate computational solutions that integrate AI models, data, software services, and computing infrastructure.
• Participate in projects involving the deployment, operation, evaluation, and scaling of Artificial Intelligence solutions, including areas such as AI Engineering and MLOps.
• Collaborate on projects applying Artificial Intelligence techniques to intelligent systems, computational perception, and autonomous applications, contributing to the Robotics and Intelligent Systems Engineering program from a Computer Science perspective.
• Develop research talent by mentoring and supervising undergraduate and graduate students, theses, and research projects.
• Develop applied research, innovation, and technology transfer projects in collaboration with companies, organizations, research centers, and strategic partners.
• Collaborate with faculty members, program directors, and other institutional areas in the design and updating of courses, concentrations, and academic experiences related to Artificial Intelligence and Computing.
• Participate in conferences, research networks, and collaborative projects that strengthen the academic and scientific positioning of the Computer Science Department and the School of Engineering and Sciences.

What are we looking for?

• Ph.D. in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, Computer Systems, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Preferred: Degree from a Top 50 university worldwide; Top 100 minimum.
• More than 3 years of experience in teaching, academia, research, technology development, consulting, or digital product management.
• Advanced English proficiency (C1 CEFR or equivalent).
• Demonstrated experience in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science, or intelligent computing systems.
• Scientific publications in indexed international journals and/or conferences.
• Experience designing, developing, and evaluating technology solutions based on AI and data.
• Teaching experience at the undergraduate level or higher.
• Interest in developing a high-impact academic career through research, publications, student development, innovation, and industry engagement.
