Unit Leader – Supply Chain and Logistics Systems

 

The Institute for Advanced Materials for Sustainable Manufacturing at Tecnológico de Monterrey develops interdisciplinary research that integrates manufacturing, supply chains, and intelligent systems to address complex industrial challenges.

 

The Institute prioritizes strong engagement with industry and society, developing applied research programs comparable to those of leading international centers, such as the MIT Center for Transportation & Logistics. Our mission is to accelerate the development and deployment of advanced technologies that transform manufacturing and industrial operations.

 

The Institute invites ambitious and internationally oriented researchers to apply for a full-time faculty position focused on developing world-class interdisciplinary research, technological innovation, and technology-based entrepreneurship in Artificial Intelligence for Industrial Systems.

If you have a background in:

  • PhD in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Transportation, or related fields.

  • Leading applied research in logistics and supply chains.

  • Improving the efficiency, resilience, and sustainability of supply networks.

  • Positioning the Institute as an international reference in logistics and supply chains.

  • Experience in applied research in logistics or supply chains.

  • Experience collaborating with companies.

  • Experience attracting funding from industry and government.

  • Experience leading interdisciplinary teams.


Responsibilities

  • Lead projects in supply chain analytics and logistics optimization.

  • Conduct research on logistics network design and supply chain resilience.

  • Collaborate with companies and logistics operators.

  • Attract external funding from industry and public organizations.

  • Lead interdisciplinary research teams in logistics and analytics.

  • Participate in knowledge transfer and executive education programs.


Expected Outcomes

  • External funding secured for research projects.

  • Collaborative projects with industry partners.

  • Development of analytical tools and platforms.

  • Scientific publications.

  • National and international positioning of the Institute.

  • Impact on logistics systems and supply chains.
