Research Professor at the Institute for Obesity Research (IOR)
The Institute for Obesity Research (https://tec.mx/en/institute-obesity-research) was established to generate forefront knowledge through scientific rigor and analysis, developing ideas and innovative solutions to the problem of obesity through inter- and trans-disciplinary work and creating scientific-technological companies to improve the health and well-being of people and society.
The IOR presents an exciting opportunity for junior and senior professors to develop and lead research activities to prevent and treat obesity and metabolic diseases in Mexican and Latin American populations within Tecnologico de Monterrey and beyond. The Institute comprises five units: Healthy Foods, Bioengineering and Medical Devices, Integrative Biology, Experimental Medicine, and Public Policy.
The Integrative Biology Unit (IBU, https://tec.mx/en/institute-obesity-research/integrative-biology-unit ) aims to generate functional knowledge and cutting-edge technologies for diagnosing, preventing, and treating metabolic diseases and obesity by integrating a large, diverse amount of experimental data on individuals, populations, and their environments.
The IBU comprises a multidisciplinary team of professors looking to understand the disease factors and integrate them for a global and deep comprehension of metabolic disorders. Managing massive data and translating it into scientific knowledge is the challenge undertaken by us, with the vision of translating it into new diagnoses, therapies, and preventive elements that reduce the rates of obesity and other metabolic diseases in the Mexican and Latin American populations.
