Postdoctoral Researcher in Nanomedicine - IOR
The postdoctoral researcher will support the research work at the Institute for Obesity Research (IOR). Their activities include executing projects, publishing scientific articles in high-impact peer-reviewed journals, participating in calls for research funding, and ensuring good dissemination of the group's and institution's work through presentations at national and international conferences. Additionally, they will support undergraduate and graduate students, as well as professors and specialists.
Requirements:
- Ph.D. in a field related to medicine, biotechnology, nanotechnology, physics, chemistry, or related sciences.
- Preferred: Research stay or one year of postdoctoral experience at a foreign university.
- Full-time dedication to research activities and excellent command of English (both oral and written).
- Proven research experience with at least 3 articles published in Q1/Q2 journals, preferably within the last 2 years.
- Experience in generating proposals for research funding in national and/or international calls.
- Confirmed experience (demonstrated through scientific production) in at least three of the following areas:
- Materials science, with an emphasis on the synthesis and physicochemical characterization of nanoparticles/hydrogels/biomaterials for developing therapeutic formulations and/or biomedical devices.
- Biological assays in cellular models, especially those related to cardiometabolic diseases.
- Biological assays in animal models, preferably related to cardiometabolic diseases.
- Design of medical devices, focused on proof-of-concept testing in cellular or animal models.
- Microfluidics, particularly for nanoparticle/biomaterial synthesis or cellular studies.
Responsibilities:
- Develop basic and translational research projects.
- Support the training of undergraduate and/or master's students.
- Scientific collaboration with other professors and research units.
- Writing scientific articles and/or research proposals to attract funding.
Expected Results:
- Publish at least one scientific article in Q1/Q2 journals as the first author within one year.
- Publish at least one article as a co-author in Q1/Q2 journals, demonstrating participation in other research projects.
- Submission of research proposals for external and internal funding.
- Dissemination of knowledge through publication of articles, patents, human resource training, etc.
- Participation in national and international conferences to disseminate the developments generated.
