Postdoctoral Researcher - Food Security & Nutrition Group

What will you do?


The successful candidate will be engaged in research activities for development of new knowledge, and postgraduate research training. The candidate will be working in close collaboration with Dr. Cristina Chuck Hernández at a main project funded by the Challenge Based Research Fund, related with prebiotic production, functionality of ingredients and breastmilk composition analysis.

 

 

Your main challenges will be:

 

  • To strength a research line related to sustainable food production and their impact on health, nutrition and specific biological systems.
  • Implement strategies for collaboration with other research centers at top 100 universities nationally and internationally.
  • Conceptualize, develop, and validate the functionality of bioactive ingredients in food and other ingredients in collaboration with researchers and students from Monterrey campus.
  • Support the development and management of basic and applied science research projects with various industrial sectors in the areas of food biotechnology, nutrition, and healthcare.
  • Support the training of highly specialized human resources with inter- and intradisciplinary approaches.
  • Publish original and review articles in high-impact journals. Increase the institution's scientific and technological productivity.

 

 

What are we looking for?

 

  • PhD in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Nutrition or Food Science.  
  • Strong scientific production (JCR Journals and/or international conferences) of at least five articles in Q1 and Q2.
  • Experience in direction of Bachelor students (2 thesis)
  • Teaching experience in topics related to Food Science, Food Engineering, Biotechnology or Nutrition
  • Excellent oral and writing skills in English (TOEFL >550).
