What will you do?

The School of Engineering and Sciences at Tecnológico de Monterrey invites applications for a Postdoctoral Fellow within the Research Group Aging and Longevity. The successful candidate will be engaged in: Experimental research focus on molecular mechanisms driving aging and preclinical murine models as a testbed for novel geroprotective therapies. The candidate will be working in close collaboration with Dr. Jonathan Javier Magaña Aguirre. Project: The role of cathepsin L as a mediator of senescence and its potential geroprotective use.

Your main challenges will be:

Study of the Molecular mechanisms driving aging and development of geroprotective therapies.

 1.- Analysis of Lifespan and pathophysiology in a premature aging mouse model by testing candidate geroprotective compounds.

 2.- Experimental strategies for the analysis of pathways involved on chronological and premature Aging.

3.- Study of mechanisms driving aging-related diseases and development of therapies. 4.- Design and development of experimental study models to study aging and its related diseases. 

What are we looking for?

PhD in Genetics and Molecular Biology, Cellular Biology or Biomedical Sciences. 

Strong scientific production (JCR Journals) related to the use of molecular and cellular biology tools in the study of aging and chronic degenerative diseases such as cancer and neuro-muscular diseases. 

Design, development, and application of viral vector systems. 

Laboratory animal handling and experimental treatments.

Tissue processing and histological analysis, including immunohistochemistry and immunofluorescence.

Cell culture and experimental manipulation of cell lines. 

Confocal microscopy, including image acquisition, processing, and quantitative analysis.

Flow cytometry, including multiparametric panel design, marker selection, gating strategies, and data analysis. 

Experimental design and scientific data interpretation.

Excellent oral and writing skills in English.
