What will you do?

The School of Engineering and Sciences at Tecnológico de Monterrey invites applications for a Postdoctoral Fellow within the Research Group Water 360. The successful candidate will be engaged in: cutting-edge research in sustainable desalination, wastewater treatment and reuse, and solar-powered water technologies. The position offers opportunities to develop independent research initiatives, lead scientific publications, secure competitive funding, and collaborate with an international network of academic and industrial partners. The candidate will be working in close collaboration with Dr. Pabel Antonio Cervantes Avilés at a main project Blue Frontier. 

 

 

Your main challenges will be:

 

Advance integrated desalination and wastewater treatment and reuse technologies through experimental research, process optimization, and solar energy integration. Activities include evaluating membrane, electrochemical, and biomineralization processes for freshwater production and resource recovery; assessing energy efficiency, technical feasibility, and environmental sustainability; and supporting pilot-scale implementation. The researcher will lead scientific publications, mentor students, collaborate with international partners, and develop competitive research proposals in sustainable water technologies, with particular emphasis on solar-powered treatment systems, circular resource recovery, and innovative solutions for water reuse and desalination in water-scarce regions.

 

What are we looking for?

 

-    PhD in Chemical Eng., Environmental Eng., Water Science, or a closely related field.
-    Strong publication record (JCR Journals  and/or international conferences)
-    Demonstrated expertise in water treatment, wastewater reuse, desalination, or resource recovery.
-    Experience in experimental research, process design, and quantitative data analysis.
-    Experience in pilot-scale experimentation, process optimization, and technology scale-up.
-    Basic knowledge of solar energy systems and their integration into water treatment processes, with an interest in improving energy efficiency, operational performance, and process sustainability.
-    Excellent oral and writing skills in English. 
-    Ability to work independently, coordinate multidisciplinary research, and develop competitive research proposals.
