Postdoctoral Reseracher at IAMSM

 

  • This position is for you if you have:
  • Must have earned a Ph.D. degree in Theoretical Physics Bachelor’s degree in physics, Chemistry Postgraduate degree in Physics or Theoretical Chemistry
  • Demonstrates outstanding leadership potential and commitment to develop an innovative research agenda with high scientific impact.
  • Previous experience in mathematical modelling on materials, nanomaterials to predict properties.
  • Published at least 10 scientific journal articles indexed in Scopus.
  • Profile SNI-CONAHCYT candidate level is desirable.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in Maple, MATLAB, Python.
  • Previous experience in international projects and collaboration in research and development projects financed, as well as previous postdoctoral stays, are desirable.
  • A team player opens to interdisciplinary collaboration.
  • Demonstrated oral and written English skills at least at the level of B2 in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. Spanish proficiency is desirable but not required.

  • The postdoctoral researcher supports the execution of the Smart Lightweighting project, making this role crucial for the project's success.
  • Enabling interdisciplinary collaboration and innovation. The researcher brings knowledge in mathematical modeling of materials, and experience in research projects, especially in nanostructured material, advanced knowledge in discovery of patterns and complex systems.
  1. Responsibilities
  • Develop mathematical models for the development of biodegradable agents based on biodegradable polymers and renewable natural materials to accelerate the biodegradation rate of polymers.
  • Support the development of biodegradable agents, via data analysis of experimental results, to accelerate the biodegradation rate of polymers.
  • Mathematically Design lattice structures for additive manufacturing based on biodegradable polymeric materials.
  • Collaborate with other team members on interdisciplinary projects and publish results in high-impact scientific journals.
  • Collaborate with other team members on research proposals for international calls.
  1. Expected Results
  • Writing at least three scientific articles per year and documentation of processes.
  • Collaborations with research centers and universities for the development of research projects at the IAMSM.

 

  • Dedicate full time to research project activities.
  • Proficient in English (oral and written).
  • Availability for travel and participation in international collaborations.

 

  • Professional Experience
  • The candidate must have a strong background in theoretical physics, with a focus on understanding the materials properties and transport behaviors of materials like graphene under various conditions.
  • The candidate must have experience developing theoretical models to examine the effects of synthetic gauge fields on materials like graphene.
  • The candidate must know how to conduct advanced computational simulations using software like Kwant in Python to investigate characteristics of materials, leading to the discovery of new insights into materials properties.
  • The candidate has led or been involved in various research projects, demonstrating the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously and contribute significantly to their success.
  • The candidate must possess skills to collaborate with researchers from diverse fields, including physics, materials, and mathematics, highlighting the ability to work effectively in interdisciplinary environments.
  • The candidate must have a good scientific publication record, with numerous articles published in high-impact scientific journals, and experience presenting research findings to academic and scientific communities.
