Postdoctoral Fellow Position at the Institute for Obesity Research Position

Qualifications:

• Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Genomics, or a related field.
• Proficiency in R programming and data analysis.
• Strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals.
• Knowledge of bacterial and fungal biology.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
• Advanced level in the English language.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience working with filamentous fungi.
• Proficiency in additional programming languages such as BASH. Python or MATLAB.
• Familiarity with high-performance computing environments and cloud-based bioinformatics tools.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct metagenomic sequencing experiments on the human microbiota.
• Develop and implement bioinformatics pipelines and tools using R.
• Development of protocols for isolating fungi and bacteria from the human microbiota.
• Implementation of the protocol for whole-genome random mutagenesis in fungi isolated from the human microbiota.
• Collaborate with a diverse team of researchers, contributing to joint projects and publications.
• Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at scientific conferences.
• Mentor graduate and undergraduate students involved in related projects.
