Postdoctoral Researcher – AI

What will you do?

Position Mexico as a leader in the development of trustworthy, applied AI with significant economic and social impact, starting with the construction sector in northern Mexico by designing, developing, and implementing AI solutions to address real-world challenges in collaboration with researchers, PhD students, and industry partners.

Your main challenges will be:

Design and execute applied AI research projects focused on the construction industry.

Translate complex industrial challenges into formal AI research problems.

Develop models and systems in areas such as Machine Learning/Deep Learning, Computer Vision, generative models, multi-objective optimization (costs, timelines, and risks), and NLP/LLMs.

Collaborate with companies in the sector to develop prototypes, minimum viable products (MVPs), and real-world field deployments.

Publish research findings in high-impact conferences and journals.

Contribute to talent development through the co-supervision of graduate students.

Contribute to the development of transferable technological assets (software, datasets, and methodologies).

What are we looking for?

Ph.D. in Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Demonstrated experience in developing ML/DL models and programming in Python (PyTorch, TensorFlow, or other frameworks); a strong track record of relevant academic publications; experience or interest in industry-oriented applied research; and the ability to work in interdisciplinary environments.

Preferred Qualifications (Differentiators): Experience in sectors such as construction, manufacturing, or infrastructure; knowledge of BIM, CAD, and geospatial data; expertise in optimization and simulation (digital twins); experience in technology transfer or entrepreneurship; and an interest in developing trustworthy, explainable, and traceable AI systems.
